We’re also happy to discuss customized options that suit your needs, such as Recurring Gifts or Legacy Giving.
Legacy Giving is a lasting and powerful way to show your commitment to nature. Legacy gifts help our conservation work for the benefit of future generations.
A Legacy Gift in your will ensures nature can be restored, adored, and explored by the next generation. Making a lasting impact on our work can be simple as a bequest in your life insurance policy or will.
Additionally, if you or a family member donate certain types of financial instruments, investments, or capital property as a Legacy Gift, you may not need to include in your taxable income any amount of capital gain realized on such gifts. You may even be entitled to an inclusion rate of zero on any capital gain realized on such gifts.
FABN is a non-profit organization working towards becoming a charitable entity. We are not currently able to issue charitable tax receipts for your membership payment. In the meantime, anyone wishing to make a donation to FABN can do so by way of the Frontenac Arch Biosphere Foundation through Canada Helps and with request that your donation be directed to FABN. Donations through Canada Helps are eligible for a tax receipt.
Considering making a legacy gift, or sponsoring a FABN program or event? Contact us at info@fabn.ca to discuss ways we can work together.
Annual members (i.e. Class B members as per FABN’s by-law) are ‘non-voting’ members of the organization, which means that while we invite your engagement, annual members do not participate in official voting or decision making about our activities.
Please note that the Frontenac Arch Biosphere Network is a not-for-profit organization, not a registered charity, and cannot issue charitable tax receipts at this time.
Transparency
One of the most valued gifts our members, donors, and supporters give us is their trust. Trust that we will use their funds in the best way possible for the land, water, and community.
We hold ourselves accountable regarding stewardship, transparency, and financial responsibility.
We know financial responsibility is paramount to fulfilling our conservation goals. To achieve this, we ensure we have effective governance over all our internal operations, publish and make public annual organizational reports, and we take part in annual independent financial audits.
